Just read where the FBI finally released their surveillance files on John Lennon...turns out he wasn't such a threat to our national security...there's a revelation.

Hi Tom,
I just wanted to drop you a note...I got Two Tone Chevy, American Son & Happy Hour in the mail yesterday. Some awesome stuff on all three. Stock Car King brought back memories of the old Heidleburg raceway. I grew up near there and remember laying in bed hearing those engines on summer weekend nights. Keep up the great work...see you at a show soon.
Linda

Tom,
A plea for help for your guitar. You're going to wear it out if you keep wailing on it like you did at PD's take it easy on that thing.
Sounded great.
Any gigs coming up that aren't on the schedule yet?

From the "Hey, Hey" files...Thursday night I followed the van home from our gig at Rock Bottom in the Waterfront. We stopped at a rest area on 79 South and as I was ready to get back on the highway I heard a new Tom Waits track on the radio. I rolled down my window and told the guys to tune in 91.3 WYEP. I told them that this Darren guy had been playing some great stuff. We got back on the highway and after the Waits track there was about 5 seconds of silence and suddenly it was broken with the opening strains of our song "Lest This Soul Shall Go Astray." Chris pulled the van up next to me and there we were cruisin' down the highway in the middle of the night with our song playin' on the radio...Too Cool to be Forgotten...

Hey Folks,
I've sold three CD's in three days this week in three different states. Here's why: I have to thank Geoffrey from the Leaf and Bean who sent out one of my promotional CD's awhile back. Because of his initiative, the Mike Sweeney song Dynamite Truck from my record Two Tone Chevrolet was featured on "Car Talk" Saturday. "Car Talk" is a long-running nationally syndicated radio program that is heard by millions each week. On their web site, www.cartalk.com, they have a list of the songs they use on each show and they include web site info. I already sent the "Music Dean" a thank you. Please visit this cool site, and if you want, send them a thanks for playing a car song by one of your local artists. I also want to thank Chad Tyson and the folks at Jamboree USA for inviting me to their studio for an hour long program on Saturday. It was heard in seventeen states and Canada. Hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving. Keep those orders coming!
Your friend,
Tom

Tom,
That sounds cool. Piano is the best most expressive instrument (IMHO).
What a fun show at Rock Bottom. For those of you who missed it, be there next month. A great time.
I was glad to hear the full band Balladeers Son redux. Hope to hear it again.

I guess it's close to 4am. We didn't have a great crowd tonight at the Barking Spider but as usual it was an inspiring night. Of course it always is when I'm sharing the room and the road with my friend Bill Toms, but there is really something special about that place, a true music room with hospitality to spare. Tonight Ken Michaels, whom I met on our last trip to the Spider, showed up and told me he learned "This Town." We opened the lid on the grand piano for him and performed the song together for what was my most memorable rendition since I played it at the Carnegie Library in Homestead. Bill's set was fantastic and we finished with a nice version of "How Much More Can We Endure." Hope to see all of you soon.
Tom
