Hey everyone,
Just wrapped up a busy weekend and I wanted to share a few things. PD's Pub on Friday was like a blast from the past. Nothing like turning up the guitar in a loud room filled with folks drinking pitchers of beer. Saturdays at the Leaf and Bean is my favorite way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Since my solo show at Magoo's on Saturday night was a four hour affair, and my third show in 24 hours, I was less than inspired to perform, but it turned into a great night. I met so many nice folks that I really can't wait to play there again. Finally, The Barking Spider in Cleveland is one of the most unique and special music rooms I've played. This place has a vibe like no other. Piano soloists, country rock bands, spoken word, songwriters like Bill Toms and me, enthusiastic music lovers, and Martin the owner who is an incredibly gracious host for the musicians and patrons alike. If you are ever in the area, it's located on Case Western campus. It's been there for years so I'm sure anyone can direct you to it. They have music all night, everynight. And speaking of gracious, I really want to thank Bill for sharing this great room with me.
Take care,
Tom

Hey everyone,
I've been reminded that I haven't posted an entry in a while so I thought I'd send out a thanks to everyone who has been keeping in touch and keeping us going. The gig at Brookline Park was really nice on Saturday and I want to thank Joe Callahan again for doing a great job of filling in. The Hard Rain gig in Greensburg was really nice on Friday...between 1100 and 1400 people! I have an incredibly busy fall lined up with shows in New York, Oklahoma, Missouri, North Carolina, and a visit to Tennessee. Stay posted for some three piece things at Rock Bottom in Homestead. That should be fun! It's all good and I hope to see you soon.
Tom

Tom,
A few weeks ago you mentioned that you were playing at the Brookline Breeze on Saturday, August 12th.
Are you still playing and what time?
It would be cool to see you play in my neighborhood!
Down on the boulevard....

A couple of coments on last Saturday's show. First of all, this band continues to gel and find their way quite well.
I think being in a bar and playing later at night really fired up Tom. He moved around on stage more than I've ever seen. It really was a great "performance" as aposed to the usual great playing. This added to the show.
The part where Tom changed the words to Saving Grace was chilling. He almost did it like a talking blues song, almost like early Dylan. It seemed both disalusioned (sic) and defiant. Really a highlight.
And what can you say about Bernie? His playing brought the songs to a more nuanced meaningful level. It added so much without ever detracting.
For people who only know the recorded work, check out the band and see these re-interpreted, updated, and evolve.
