Many thanks for a great night of music Friday (6/3); your acoustic set @ Borders was fantastic. It was great being able to listen to you sing your songs. And then Hard Rain @ Cefalo's... what a rock & roll party that was!! Well worth the trip in from Columbus. Here's wishing you all the best with your music.

From the journals of American Son...
Double booked at Newman's so we caught the Dave Iglar show at a place called The Large Hotel...someone shot out the lights and Dave walked the ledge. The band's real good. Would have posted earlier, but came home looking for "Red Haired Girl" and found "Into the Great Wide Open" cassette buried in a shoe box...

This has been a fantastic weekend...two great shows at Borders, Friday at Pittsburgh Mills and tonight at Monroeville. I can't thank them enough for carrying my records. To all of my new friends I met on Friday, thanks so much. I hope you stay in touch. Drop a line if you're reading this. To my friends who came out to support the show tonight at Monroeville, you're the best. Thanks, Pat. Saw a band at Moondogs last night after the Mills show. Boss Diablo sounded great and their CD is really good. Check them out...good bunch of guys. It was really nice to have a drink with Moondog before I hit the road, too. Spent the day with Bill at the benefit for the North Hills Community Outreach. As always, it was a fantastic day in his company. Thanks Harriet and Gloria and all the other folks there for working so hard for a great cause. Between gigs I had a burger with Janet and Jack at Excuses and a beer with Mike Banos. Finally, the perfect way to wind down...Bill and Carol Lee Espy on the radio. Life is good. Can't wait to spend the day in the sunshine with my family tomorrow. Time to roll.........

Tom,
performance wise - your show at Moondogs improved on the stellar Cefalos show. I'm looking forward to see this develop.
I'm pretty sure One Way Ticket and You Don't Want to Lose her were played although I didn't do the setlist due to being tardy.
Looking forward to the next show.

Just a word of thanks to everyone who made the trip up to New York, and especially Bill's friends who put us up for the weekend. Hard Rain had a great set and I can't wait to get back up there. I hope Tony C. doesn't mind, but I copied his entry from Bill's guestbook to pass along to everyone on my site. He wrote:
"What a phenominal set Bill Toms and Hard Rain played at Kenny's Castaways in NYC on Saturday night! The band blew the tin roof off the old dump! Even the Elvis lamp on the bar was up and shakin'. Those of you who made the bus trip from Pittsburgh were rewarded with a an incredible show. We don't get to see many Hard Rain shows in this area. After lastt night, I think that will change. The club management and the other bands seemed to be impressed with Bill, Hard Rain and the loyalty of their hometown fans. It was great to see some old friends and make some new ones yesterday. We hope that you all enjoyed your day in the Big Apple. We certainly enjoyed having you here. Thank you Bill, Hard Rain and Jill Simmons (it was nice to hear your lovely singing voice again) for a great night of music. We're looking forward to seeing all of you again in the near future. Pittsburgh, you're so lucky to have these great musicians among you. Please continue to support them!"
I hope I'll see everyone at Moondog's on Friday. Jill Simmons has an early show at Highland Park and she'll be selling a new CD recorded at AmeriSon. It sounds really good. Try to make it to both shows if you can.
Tom
