Friday 6/26/09: Barking Spider Tavern, Cleveland, OH - This hot summer night's air was filled with the music of Tom Breiding as he performed a non-stop two hour set for an enthusiastic group of patrons at "the Spider." Book-ended by a couple of songs by one of his favorite musicians, Chris Knight, Tom performed songs from his earliest CD's to his latest, the fine Pittsburgh tribute "When We Shine," as well as a couple of brand new ones. Incredible performance by American Son Saturday night@ the Thunderbird Cafe. Tom dazzled the full house with some lengthy riffs from some of his older classics.Great show, nice folks, & cold beer at a reasonable price; TB at the TB is a definite worth see!! If you missed this one shame on you for six weeks!!!

Happy New Year to you and Janet and Jack! I just checked your schedule and there are no shows listed. I checked it on Saturday morning and it didn't say you were playing at the Leaf & Bean or I would have come down. Andrea told me you played later on in the day. Are you playing there this Saturday?
Also wanted to tell you (a little late) how proud I was to see you on stage at the Thunderbird Cafe opening for Chris Knight! Great song selection, too! And afterwards when new fans were complimenting your performance/songs and bought CDs! You need to open more shows there because people pay attention and are there for the music not just to socialize.

Just got done listening to "When We Shine" and as always Tom puts out a few classics. Great music and lyrics with a Pittsburgh historical perspective. This CD is a must have treasure for all music fans and Pittsburghers alike. I'm particularly loving "Summer Drive" and "Pittsburgh" among others. This is ideal as a gift because it crosses such lines as rock,folk, jazz, etc... Great work!!
