am writing to you to ask your support for a worthwhile show.

Please attend AmeriSon Productions' Ballroom Folk Series at Cefalo's in Carnegie. It has some of the finest talent in today's folk scene coming to Pittsburgh and you really won't want to miss it.

Here is the line-up:
Thursday, April 24 - Beaucoup Blue with special guests Bob Beach, Rick Malis, and Tom Breiding

Zac has a baseball game AND karate so I can't make it. I can't recomend these performers enough. Bob Beach has blow me away both times I've seen him. Rick Malis is with the MavenS I beleive (I bought their cd after one show) and you know about my thoughts on Tom. Interestingly I don't know the headliner, but here's some info.

Beaucoup Blue Biography:

Beaucoup Blue is the Philadelphia based duo of David and Adrian Mowry. Father and son have been performing their music strongly rooted in the blues, up and down the eastern seaboard. Bridging many gaps in American music, their soulful traditional and contemporary style mesh into an innovative and authentic sound. Although blues is a staple in their repertoire, they also base their love in music from Folk, Soul, R&B, Jazz, Country, and Bluegrass. All these interests and influences come out in their original songwriting in a unique way.

A handsome range of instruments like six and twelve string guitars, slide guitar, Dobro and the two soulful voices blend together like only family members can, affecting audiences wherever they perform.

Here are a few examples of some things written about Beaucoup Blue: "This is what acoustic blues should sound like but so rarely do. Father and son, David and Adrian Mowry, deliver a surprisingly soulful performance. Their singing is tough and controlled and their guitar work is crisp and mournful." (Tune-UP Magazine),

"Covers and reworkings mix nicely with own compositions like the tender 'Crying Won't Help You' and the roots number 'Shiver To The Bone'. The recording quality is outstanding and the songs obviously benefit from this. Out Of The Woodwork is in my mind genuine craftsmanship" (Bobtje Blues),

"An acoustic masterpiece" (Big City Blues Magazine)

Please listen and hear for yourself what this unique family duo has to offer.

I just heard a cut from The Unbroken Circle played on KPIG radio ( the San Francisco 1510 version ). Ordered 3 CDs, and sent a pasted copy of the cover
and site link to friends back east in WestByGod. First time I had heard any song of yours . . and liked it !
Good luck with this new CD, as more people are guaranteed to like it when they hear it . . : >) PL

That WYEP show was a great mid-week treat for me.First time I ever saw you play in studio with no distractions. The full-band performance of "Union Miner" was a showstopper in any venue or circumstance.Great work that seems to be just getting better. To watch a show of that caliber for no charge feels like stealing! Thanks!!

I was also at the Thunderbird Cafe to see Chris Knight last night (2nd time). Thanks to Tom for playing his songs at his shows and introducing me to his music. I closed my eyes a few times and thought it was Tom singing. Very similar styles. And on a few songs Tom was sitting next to me and sang along with Chris, so I got a double shot of singing! Great audience, great waitress (Ursula) and great friends - fun night!

I saw my favorite songwriter Chris Knight tonight at the Thunderbird Cafe in Lawrenceville. Great show. "What's said is good as done..."
A little inspiration for tomorrow's show with some old friends. Check out the entry below for a hint of what I have to look forward to.
Thanks to my friends and everyone across this great land and overseas for the interest in this new record during the week of its official release! Look for the new Bill Toms record next month...

I got this message via the site from an old great friend and I had to share:

Grew up with Tom in Wheeling in the 70\'s. I remember one night we were goofing around on Owl Ct and he ran up to kick what he thought was a football. It was a rock HAHA! I remember swapping 8 Tracks with him too. I think that I gave him Uriah Heep -"Look at Yourself\" for Kiss - \"Destroyer\".
He was also there when I almost caught a girl\'s hair on fire while trying a magic trick. We built ramps and jumped our bikes over stuff. God, you can\'t really be a kid anymore. Without a helmet anyway. He also bought my 1976 Bonneville. I can\'t wait until this Friday to see him three blocks from my house all these years later. And, playing some good ol\' real music. Right on.

Tom,

Great seeing you once again when I was home in January. As always, thanks for your version of "Highway Patrolman." Hope to see you at the Leaf and Bean this summer,

Tommy Kent

Message from Tom:
My pleasure, Tommy. I still like to sing that song - I'm always reminded about it's influence on my earliest work.
Hope to see you soon.
Tom
